Alfa Romeo Exec Confirms
The only thing better than an Alfa Romeo for a rousing Sunday drive: a Quadrifoglio. For an Alfa to get a Quadrifoglio version there must be a substantial performance difference between the core model and the performance variant that bears the four-leaf clover badge. That will not change with the advent of electrification, senior vice president for the Alfa Romeo Brand in North America Larry Dominique told MotorTrend, but not all platforms will enable that degree of differentiation, Dominique says.
Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Sales
The traditional Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV were designed from the outset to have a QV, offering the customer a magnitude of difference for an enhanced experience. "Getting into a Quadrifoglio today, you are talking about more than 500 horsepower versus 280 horsepower. A lot of the AMGs, M types, they don't have that level of performance difference," Dominique says.
Historically, Quadrifoglio performance variants account for about 3 percent of Alfa sales, but Dominique is seeing more demand for the additional performance and is looking to increase QV sales dramatically this year.
